“Music is the bridge between
silence and expression.”

Oliver Frate, born in 1982, is a German composer known for his evocative neoclassical and motion picture compositions with influences from electronic and ambient music.

From an early age, he demonstrated a deep passion for music, composing pieces throughout his youth. He received piano lessons with an emphasis on composition from the renowned musicologist and composer Henning Siedentopf, which laid the foundation for his later artistic development.

Although Oliver Frate pursued a degree in graphic design at university, music remained an integral part of his life. Professionally, he worked as a graphic designer, both independently and in advertising agencies, allowing him to blend visual and musical arts seamlessly. His design expertise is evident in his self-created album covers, which reflect the atmospheric depth of his compositions.

Oliver Frate has collaborated internationally with various artists, singers, and voice actors, expanding his creative network across multiple disciplines. His experience in film and media music has further enriched his sound, adding cinematic depth to his neoclassical works. All of his compositions are written for piano, with many pieces orchestrated to include full symphonic ensembles and choral arrangements.

Working from his personal studio in Germany, he continues to create music that bridges classical traditions with modern cinematic influences. His works captivate listeners with their emotional intensity and immersive storytelling.
